Manage workspace settings

How to configure your workspace — members, roles, notifications, integrations, and billing.

Workspace settings are accessible to Admins from the Settings link in the left nav. This guide covers the main settings areas.

Members

The Members tab shows all current workspace members and their roles.

To invite a member: Click Invite member, enter their email address, and select their role (Admin, Member, or Viewer). They'll receive a sign-in email with workspace access.

To change a role: Click the role badge next to a member's name and select the new role from the dropdown.

To remove a member: Click the ··· menu next to a member and select Remove from workspace. Removing a member doesn't delete their contributions — initiatives, focus areas, and clarifications they created remain.

Notifications

The Notifications tab controls workspace-level notification defaults. Individual members can override these in their own account settings.

Integrations

The Integrations tab is where you connect Penling to external services:

  • GitHub — link pull requests and commits to focus areas
  • MCP server — manage your MCP connection credentials and published plans
  • Webhooks — configure outbound webhooks for custom integrations

Billing

The Billing tab shows your current plan, usage, and invoices. Admins can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel the workspace plan from here.

Workspace name and URL

Change the workspace display name and URL slug from Settings → General. Changing the URL slug will invalidate existing deep links — confirm before changing.

Deleting the workspace

Workspace deletion is permanent and irreversible. All initiatives, specs, plans, and history are deleted. This action is only available to Admins, requires entering the workspace name to confirm, and takes effect immediately.
